Whether you think your walls are full, or have no idea where to put small art once it arrives, there's an idea here for you.

We're expanding the possibilities of how and where art can be placed in a room, and options beyond the ‘one picture wall’.

3 ways to add small artwork to your home:

  1. Hang in a vertical stack
  2. Create a gallery wall arrangement
  3. Spruce up your shelves
  4. BONUS (find out below)

Admittedly, shelves aren’t a wall, but I had to throw this one in anyway. Small paintings can act as decór elements too!

1 / Hang in a Vertical Stack

Tiny walls can be overlooked yet have great potential for showing off small art. Stacking is a great choice and easy to do.

Look for transitional walls between rooms such as kitchen and dining areas, front entrance, hallways or how about the powder room?

Get creative and hang two, three or five artworks vertically!

They don’t all need to be the same size or by the same artist. Instead look for one common element between artworks such as a color, frame type, size or subject.

For example, if three pieces of different size and style all contain a similar shade of pink, that could be enough to make them hang well together.

Don’t worry about matching perfectly! The most important thing is filling your space with the things you love.

Here’s an example of taking ‘stacking’ to the max.

(Note – hanging original art in steamy bathrooms is not recommended, but powder rooms are absolutely fine!)

2 / Create a Gallery Wall

You knew I was going to mention this, right? It may not be for everyone but just remember…

Creating a gallery wall display can be a super creative, personalized way to express yourself in your home.

It can burst with unpredictable quirkiness or be simple, clean and calm. The ideas are endless and it’s totally up to you!

So before you dismiss creating a gallery wall, pull out those treasures you have stashed in the back closet plus that new art still looking for a home, and consider hanging as a group.

Re-arranging and adding pieces can make your room feel like new again!

3 / Spruce up your Shelves

We're thinking beyond the wall now... most of us have shelving units, built-ins, floating shelves or a mantle somewhere in our home that could be livened up with a small piece of art or two.

Break up the space between books, baskets and other treasures.

4 / (BONUS) Add to Table Decor

No, not your dinner table! I’m talking accent tables in a hallway or the kind used to fill empty space in a room.

A small painting could be propped up or placed on an easel to add a lovely pop of color between a plant and that oh-so-lonely lamp!

Well that’s all for now… hopefully these got your decorating juices flowing.

How do you include small pieces of art with your decor?
