“Art is the only thing I’ve ever been sure of in life… I need to do it.”

Hang around long enough and you will hear me say these words candidly and without hesitation.

Life can seem like such a mystery sometimes, but making art has always been crystal clear to me. Perhaps you’ve felt this way with your own thing?

We all have something we connect deeply to… that thing we feel ‘at home with’… that sparks joy and excitement.

For as long as I can remember, art has held that deep connection.

From the early days coloring at the kitchen table, to my first painting class at age twelve, to eventual practice as a full-time artist. The excitement doesn’t fade, in fact it builds up the more that I do…

  • It’s why I take a sketchbook and drawing tools on every trip.
  • It’s why I cancel Netflix for months at a time.
  • It’s why every notebook I keep has margins covered with oodles of doodles
This need to create is one of the big reasons I make art (besides spreading joy and creating calm). It’s at the very core and drives everything that I do.

Now back to the studio, there’s art to be made!
